VeriChip (now re-branding PositiveID) was the only Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved human-implantable microchip. It was marketed by PositiveID, a subsidiary of Applied Digital Solutions, and it received United States FDA approval in 2004. Its manufacture and marketing were discontinued in 2010. About twice the length of a dime, the device is typically implanted between the shoulder and elbow area of an individual’s right arm. Once scanned at the proper frequency, the VeriChip responds with a unique 16 digit number which could be then linked with information about the user held on a database for identity verification, medical records access and other uses. The insertion procedure is performed under local anesthetic in a physician's office.[citation needed] As an implanted device used for identification by a third party, it had generated controversy and debate. VeriChip's merger in 2010 officially changed their name to "PositiveID."

Destron Fearing, a subsidiary of Applied Digital Solutions, initially developed the technology for the VeriChip.

Privacy concerns

Certain privacy advocates have raised concerns regarding potential abuse of the VeriChip, with some warning that adoption by governments as a compulsory identification program could lead to erosion of civil liberties. In addition, it has been shown that the VeriChip's lack of security features made it susceptible to cloning, which could present a risk of identity theft. At the same time if these security features were to be increased the chips could begin to play a major role in Identity Theft protection. There has been three states so far in the United States of America that have passed anti-chipping legislation, protecting against mandated implantation. These states are California, Wisconsin, and North Dakota.
Health effects

According to Wired News online, and the Associated Press, there have been research articles over the last ten years that found a connection between the chips and possible cancer. When mice and rats were injected with glass-encapsulated RFID transponders, like those made by VeriChip, they "developed malignant, fast-growing, lethal cancers in up to 1% to 10% of cases" at the site at which the microchip was injected or to which it had migrated. However, the 10% rate was obtained with hemizygous p53-deficient mice, the counterpart of humans with the Li-Fraumeni syndrome, and rates near 1% were more typical. The Verichip corporation responded to this report, which caused a 40% drop in their stock value, by stating that rodent data had been provided to the FDA and did not reflect the effect of the chips in humans or pets. Dogs, alternatively, are more resistant to the formation of malignant soft tissue tumors in response to foreign body insult. Induction of sarcomas by foreign bodies has been reported in humans, and has been described as analogous to rodent foreign body-associated sarcomas and is fairly infrequent. Resolution of the question may be hindered by the long delay in onset of sarcoma induction or other deleterious side effects, analogous to the controversy in the mid 20th century over asbestos exposure and predisposition to pleural abnormalities such as malignant mesothelioma.

Tommy Thompson, the former Secretary of Health and Human Services, supported the VeriChip as a "useful tool in sharing medical information with health care providers in emergency situations". Thompson sat on the board of directors of VeriChip's parent company Applied Digital Solutions for two years. In June 2007, the American Medical Association declared that "implantable radio frequency identification (RFID) devices may help to identify patients, thereby improving the safety and efficiency of patient care, and may be used to enable secure access to patient clinical information".

The Discovery Channel's MythBusters explored whether an RFID tag will explode if placed inside an MRI. The Build Team inserted an RFID tag into pig flesh and placed inside the MRI, but failed to get any results. Team member Kari Byron then had an RFID tag placed inside her arm and was placed inside the MRI. The RFID tag remained unaffected, and left Kari unharmed

VeriChip Admits Failure To Disclose Implant Chip Risks
Oops! Did VeriChip Have A 'Senior Moment'?

VeriChip Corporation, the much-hated purveyor of the VeriChip human ID implant, is airing its dirty laundry this week. This is not by choice, mind you, but because the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) required the company to disclose its "risk factors" prior to launching its initial public offering of stock (IPO) Friday.

The company lays out nearly 20 pages of risk factors in its Form S-1 Registration Statement, a required document for the IPO. But what the company failed to reveal in its filing may be even more eye-opening, say CASPIAN privacy advocates Dr. Katherine Albrecht and Liz McIntyre. The pair, authors of the "Spychips" series of books, have been vocal critics of VeriChip, dogging the company in recent years and facing down its senior executives on radio and national television.

"Potential investors should be told how a hacker can simply walk by a chipped person and clone his or her VeriChip signal, a threat demonstrated by security researcher Jonathan Westhues months ago," says McIntyre, who is a former federal bank examiner.

"Omitting the cloning threat from its SEC documents is a serious oversight that could affect the value of VeriChip's stock. This is materially relevant information, considering VeriChip's claim that its product could be used to tighten security in facilities like nuclear power plants," she adds.

(For more on VeriChip's vulnerability to hacking, see "The RFID Hacking Underground,' Wired Magazine, )

Verichip also failed to disclose to investors and the SEC that patients' VeriChip implants might not be readable in ambulances. VeriChip's chipping kit literature cautions that ambient radio waves, like those in ambulances, can interfere with the equipment that reads the implanted tags, but this important fact somehow didn't make its way into the SEC filing.

(Scanned images of VeriChip's chipping kit literature, including the ambulance caution, are available here: )

Even with crucial information missing, investors may still find themselves scratching their heads over poorly conceived aspects of VeriChip's business model. "Anyone reading VeriChip's SEC filing would have second thoughts about the stock," says Albrecht. "Who, after all, would invest in a company that expects patients to document their own medical history and blood type in a database? This could prove risky for anyone, not to mention the elderly, Alzheimer's, and cognitively impaired patients that VeriChip is targeting."

She cites a passage from the registration statement that reads, "we anticipate that individuals implanted with our microchip will take responsibility for inputting all of their information into our database, including personal health records."

Other risks identified in the VeriChip filing could also scare investors away. These include anticipation of ongoing multi-million dollar loses, the "modest" number of people willing to get chipped, public opposition, and the risk that the microchip may be found to damage a person's health. The company also warns that it could be subject to lawsuits and loss of confidence if its patient database is unavailable in an emergency. The company admits that the database has been unavailable in the past.

The market seemed to be catching on to some of these problems as VeriChip began offering stock Friday in a bid to raise million of dollars to fund its human chipping operations. Analysts noted a "lukewarm reaction" to the stock and that it was trading on "the low end of the expected range."

To read the VeriChip Form S-1 Registration Statement (Amendment No. 7) see:

The VeriChip implant is a glass encapsulated RFID tag that is injected into the flesh to uniquely number and identify individuals. The tag can be read by radio waves from a few inches away. The highly controversial device is being marketed as a way to access secure areas, link to medical records, and serve as a payment instrument when associated with a credit card or pre-paid account.

The Mark Of The Beast (RFID Chip) Is Ready! Are You Ready For The Rapture?

The Antichrist will strictly enforce the “mark of the beast” (RFID Chip: 666 code) implementation. Antichrist will attack unraptured Christians; kill millions of them for refusing to accept his “666” mark (RFID Chip) and worship his image; have authority over the nations; demand that his image be worshiped by everybody and his number will be “666” (Revelation 6:9-11; 7:9-17; 13:7-18). If you are not raptured, you may end up receiving Antichrist satanic mark (RFID Chip) and worship him (Revelation 13:16-18).

According to Biblical prophecies, Antichrist will become very powerful globally after the rapture due to satanic empowerment. People will worship Satan through Antichrist because he will be a possessed Satanist (“Beast”). He will gather a huge following through satanic deception and also cause untold suffering in the world, especially for the unraptured Christians. He will receive his power, throne and authority from Satan (Revelation13:2). He will be a ruler, conqueror, guilty of terrible blasphemy against God, put himself above everything and everyone and also proclaim himself to be “God” (Revelation 6:2, 13:5; Daniel 11:37; 2 Thessalonians 2:4). The suffering and death that will fall on the nations during the great tribulation period will be horrible. Satan, Antichrist and his numerous followers worldwide will end up in the eternal Lake of Fire and Sulfur eventually (Revelation 14:9-12, 19:17-21, 20:10-15). Accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour today! Tomorrow may be too late! Stop your unbelieving disposition now!

The RFID device is powered externally as needed. Inside the RFID device is a coil and a capacitor. Actual size of this “implantable chip” is about the size of a grain of rice. When the RFID chip is exposed to an electromagnetic field, the same frequency as the coil is tuned to, then the coil takes some of the energy from this field and charges the capacitor which then powers the chip long enough to transmit, using frequency variations on the same coil that it used to get the power, to transmit a code. Your personal ID number.

The RFID device is a super sophisticated multi layered microprocessor, which is both a transmitter and a transponder. It can transmit to satellite continuously through short bursts of ultra high frequency. Organizers and planners analyzed the two best parts of the body in which to implant this RFID device in order to take advantage of maximum degrees of temperature variation. After months of expensive medical research, they determined the two best places to implant it would be first, the right hand, and if you were missing your right hand, your forehead. It will be injected (like a shot) underneath the skin. “He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand (RFID Chip insertion) or on their foreheads. And that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666.” (Revelation 13:16-18). In biblical numerology, “777” is God and “6” is man, so “666” is man trying to be god. One way man tries to be god is to control everything through our own technology.

This transponder technology will enable the closed surveillance of every man, woman and child in the world. RFID device puts out a digital created signal at specific intervals. This particular interval is a locator signal. It gives vital information on the individual as well as a locator marker signal. It has a release pattern, separate receiving antenna, separate broadcasting antenna. It has a microchip that stores nine items: name and digital picture, digitized fingerprint data, physical description, your address and previous addresses, family history, present occupation and income, bank/tax information and any money owed, your criminal record if any and your new social security number. Your new number will be 18 digits. The first five of your zip code, with the additional four after the hyphen and your social security number. These 18 digits will be grouped into three sections (666). Stepping stones towards the acceptance of the RFID chip are that the scenario is written, the chip is ready, the needle to inject the RFID chip is ready, the patent is ready, the controlled mass media (TV, Newspapers, Radio) is ready, and the general public has been well prepared for many years through subliminal manipulations with the help of TV, Radio and other mind control tools.

WARNING: Do not let anyone, for any reason, inject a chip in your right hand or forehead! It is amazing (not really, when you consider the Author) how specific the Bible is regarding the “mark of the beast”: Revelation 13:16- “And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads.” Notice it says “in” not “on,” this fits perfectly since the chip is injected in the hand or forehead. Revelation 13:17-18 goes on to say: “And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that has understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is 666.”

If you have noticed, they have been gradually getting society used to the idea of a cashless system, first checks, then credit cards, then debit cards, then smart cards. Finally, they will go public with the “implantable transponder” (or similar device), and if it was not for the intent behind it, it would seem to the human mind to be a good system, as they will probably say that with implantable chip you will no longer have to worry about your cards being lost, stolen, or forgotten, and that without any cash to be robbed of, you will be a much less desirable target of crime, and since all financial transactions will have a computer record, all other types of crime will be more difficult also, but because of the evil behind the “mark” as shown in the Bible’s clear warning, it is to be absolutely avoided if you truly value your soul. They may also use the excuse of a (planned) “world financial crisis” that in order to save the world economy we have to go to a cashless system, however they try to convince people, they will make it seem like it is for the good of humanity. Also, you may have noticed how the number of the beast (666) is being seen more and more (barcode), sometimes openly, and sometimes disguised in different ways, it is just another indication of how close we are to the fulfillment of the book of Revelation. Do not let anyone, for any reason, inject a chip in your right hand or forehead.

Microchip implantation is currently introduced as a voluntary procedure. A mandatory national identification system via microchip implants could be achieved in two stages: Upon introduction as a voluntary system, the microchip implantation will appear to be palatable. After there is a familiarity with the procedure and a knowledge of its benefits, implantation would be mandatory. If the government can force you to surrender your fingerprints to get a driver’s license, why can’t it force you to get a computer chip implant? As Social Security numbers were first voluntary, then mandatory, biometric chip implants are universally inevitable after the rapture. If you are left behind on rapture day, do not accept the mark of the beast! (Revelation 14:9-11) “Then a third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark (RFID Chip) on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. He shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, wh

Think it's completely safe to inject an RFID transponder into the flesh of an elderly loved one?

Think again.

Although the FDA approved the VeriChip implant as a medical device in October of 2004, their approval does not mean the device is completely safe. We have obtained an FDA letter that outlines a number of potential health risks associated with the device.

Among the potential problems the FDA identifies are: "adverse tissue reaction," "migration of the implanted transponder," "failure of implanted transponder," "electrical hazards" and "magnetic resonance imaging [MRI] incompatibilty." Not to mention the nasty needle stick from the "inserter" used to inject it. (The FDA lists "failure of inserter" -- a bloody possiblity we'd rather not contemplate -- among the risks.)

To read the FDA's letter for yourself, download the PDF and refer to Page 3, Paragraph 2.

Of the numerous risks listed, MRI incompatibility is perhaps the most serious. An MRI machine uses powerful magnetic fields coupled with pulsed radio frequency (RF) fields. According to the FDA's Primer on Medical Device Interactions with Magnetic Resonance Imaging Systems, "electrical currents may be induced in conductive metal implants" that can cause "potentially severe patient burns."

Presumably, VeriChip-MRI incompatibility means that doctors will be unable to order this potentially life-saving diagnostic procedure for patients with VeriChip implants, unless the patient undergoes a surgical procedure to remove the VeriChip first.

The VeriChip's problems don't stop there, says RFID experts Dr. Katherine Albrecht and Liz McIntyre. McIntyre, who is also a former bank examiner and financial writer, has carefully analyzed the company's SEC registration statement and associated chipping information and discovered serious flaws. It turns out the company's own literature indicates that chipped patients cannot undergo an MRI if they're unconscious. What's more, the company admits that critical medical information linked to the chip could be unavailable in a real emergency.

The instructions provided to medical personnel warn that chipped patients should not undergo an MRI unless they are fully alert and able to communicate any "unusual sensations or problems," like movement or heating of the implant. This conflicts with the company's efforts to promote the device to people who cannot speak for themselves, such as Alzheimer's patients, those with dementia, the mentally disabled, and people who are concerned about entering an emergency room unconscious.

Ironically, chipped patients may have to wear a Medic Alert bracelet or bear some obvious marking so they aren't mistakenly put in an MRI machine.

Patients may also need a MedicAlert bracelet as a backup in case the VeriChip database containing their critical medical information is unavailable. The fine print on the back of the VeriChip Patient Registration Form warns implantees that "the Company does not warrant...that the website will be available at any particular time," and physicians are told the product might not function in places where there are ambient radio transmissions--like ambulances.

By signing the chipping agreement, the patient agrees not to hold VeriChip Corporation liable for any damages from any cause whatsoever, even if those damages stem from the company's breach of contract or negligence.

In addition, patients are required to waive any claims related to the product's "merchantability and fitness." The waiver paragraph as it appears on the form is reprinted below:

That's quite a lot of potential harm for something supposedly designed to help patients.

If you're looking for a secure, non-invasive way to alert medical professionals to the health history and identity of a loved one, we recommend the Medic Alert bracelet as a safe alternative to the VeriChip. Given MedicAlert's 50+ year track record, emergency health providers, as well as police and safety officials, know to look for it. It costs far less than the VeriChip and has none of the serious health risks associated with implanted microchips.

IBM, Positive ID and Verichip hope to get all humans tagged with microchip implants

Scientists tag animals to monitor their behavior and keep track of endangered species. Now some futurists are asking whether all of mankind should be tagged too. Looking for a loved one? Just Google his microchip.

The chips, called radio frequency identification (RFID) tags, emit a simple radio signal akin to a bar code, anywhere, anytime. Futurists say they can be easily implanted under the skin on a person’s arm.

Already, the government of Mexico has surgically implanted the chips, the size of a grain of rice, in the upper arms of staff at the attorney general’s office in Mexico City. The chips contain codes that, when read by scanners, allow access to a secure building, and prevent trespassing by drug lords.

In research published in the International Journal of Innovation and Sustainable Development, Taiwanese researchers postulate that the tags could help save lives in the aftermath of a major earthquake. "Office workers would have their identity badges embedded in their RFID tags, while visitors would be given temporary RFID tags when they enter the lobby," they suggest. Similarly, identity tags for hospital staff and patients could embed RFID technology.

“Our world is becoming instrumented,” IBM’s chairman and CEO, Samuel J. Palmisano said at an industry conference last week. “Today, there are nearly a billion transistors per human, each one costing one ten-millionth of a cent. There are 30 billion radio RFID tags produced globally.”

Having one in every person could relieve anxiety for parents and help save lives, or work on a more mundane level by unlocking doors with the wave of a hand or starting a parked car -- that's how tech enthusiast Amal Graafstra (his hands are pictured above) uses his. But this secure, “instrumented” future is frightening for many civil liberties advocates. Even adding an RFID chip to a driver’s license or state ID card raises objections from concerned voices.

Tracking boxes and containers on a ship en route from Hong Kong is OK, civil libertarians say. So is monitoring cats and dogs with a chip surgically inserted under their skin. But they say tracking people is over-the-top -- even though the FDA has approved the devices as safe in humans and animals.

“We are concerned about the implantation of identity chips,” said Jay Stanley, senior policy analyst for the speech, privacy and technology program at the American Civil Liberties Union. He puts the problem plainly: “Many people find the idea creepy.”

“RFID tags make the perfect tracking device,” Stanley said. “The prospect of RFID chips carried by all in identity papers means that any individual’s presence at a given location can be detected or recorded simply through the installation of an invisible RFID reader.”

There are a number of entrepreneurial companies marketing radio tracking technologies, including Positive ID, Datakey and MicroChips. Companies started marketing the idea behind these innovative technologies a few years ago, as excellent devices for tracking everyone, all the time.

Following its first use in an emergency room in 2006, VeriChip touted the success of the subdermal chip. "We are very proud of how the VeriMed Patient Identification performed during this emergency situation. This event illustrates the important role that the VeriChip can play in medical care," Kevin McLaughlin, President and CEO of VeriChip, said at the time.

“Because of their increasing sophistication and low cost, these sensors and devices give us, for the first time ever, real-time instrumentation of a wide range of the world's systems -- natural and man-made,” said IBM's Palmisano.

But are human's "systems" to be measured?

Grassroots groups are fretting loudly over civil liberties implications of the devices, threatening to thwart their development for mass-market, human tracking applications.

“If such readers proliferate, and there would be many incentives to install them, we would find ourselves in a surveillance society of 24/7 mass tracking,” said the ACLU's Stanley.

The controversy extends overseas, too. David Cameron, Britain's new prime minister, has promised to scrap a proposed national ID card system and biometrics for passports and the socialized health service, options that were touted by the Labour Party.

"We share a common commitment to civil liberties, and to getting rid -- immediately -- of Labour's ID card scheme," said Cameron according to ZDNet UK.

These controversies are impacting developers. One firm, Positive ID, has dropped the idea of tracking regular folks with its chip technology. On Wednesday, the company announced that it had filed a patent for a new medical device to monitor blood glucose levels in diabetics. The technology it initially developed to track the masses is now just a “legacy” system for the Del Ray Beach, Fla., firm.

“We are developing an in-vivo, glucose sensing microchip,” Allison Tomek, senior vice president of investor relations and corporate communications, told “In theory it will be able to detect glucose levels. We are testing the glucose sensor portion of the product. It will contain a sensor with an implantable RFID chip. Today’s patent filing was really about our technology to create a transformational electronic interface to measure chemical change in blood.”

Gone are the company’s previous ambitions. “Our board of directors wants a new direction,” says Tomek. “Rather than focus on identification only, we think there is much more value in taking this to a diagnostic platform. That’s the future of the technology -- not the simple ID.”

The company even sold off some of its individual-style tracking technology to Stanley Black and Decker for $48 million, she said.

These medical applications are not quite as controversial as the tracking technologies. The FDA in 2004 approved another chip developed by Positive ID’s predecessor company, VeriChip, which stores a code -- similar to the identifying UPC code on products sold in retail stores -- that releases patient-specific information when a scanner passes over the chip. Those codes, placed on chips and scanned at the physician’s office or the hospital, would disclose a patient’s medical history.

But like smart cards, these medical chips can still be read from a distance by predators. A receiving device can "speak” to the chip remotely, without any need for physical contact, and get whatever information is on it. And that’s causing concern too.

The bottom line is simple, according to the ACLU: “Security questions have not been addressed,” said Stanley. And until those questions are resolved, this technology may remain in the labs.

With over 2,000 IBM employees dedicated to working on implantable radio frequency chips, the corporation has become obsessed with tracking pharmaceuticals, cars.

They say they want to offer financial solutions for a "new financial order." IBM has the aspiration to document every financial sector -- claiming that the planet will be "interconnected," "intelligent."

The readers can transfer data from computers to satellites. But that was just the beginning -- before the chips became human-implantable

They focus on "global asset control."

And by "assets," they mean "you" and "your family."

IBM, Verichip & The Human Microchipping Agenda

Written on sidebar of video: Documentary providing a chilling detailed and concise account of the human microchipping agenda for the coming global information control grid. Featuring Edwin Black, author of “IBM And The Holocaust”, who talks about how Hitler used the information technology of the IBM “Hollerith Punch Card”, originally invented in the 1890’s as a census tool, to gather precise details of all citizens, including Jews, for “processing” by the Nazis. The numbers on the punch cards became the numbers tattoed on the forearms of the Jews. This was the forerunner of the bar code, which has now evolved into the RFID chip – the final frontier of human tracking, the Hitler program at warped speed.

IBM funds the Verichip parent company (Applied Digital Solutions, or ADSX). The VeriChip Corporation is both FDA approved and patented with the owner of patent (6,400,338) granted recently to VeriChip’s manufacturer, Digital Angel Corporation, with worldwide patents pending. World governments are constantly tightening measures in regard to identity protection, whilst trumpeting our need to be protected from the forces of evil – this propoganda aims at demanding total conformity by people.

The purpose of this documentary is to awaken and stir you into action. As stated on Greg’s site:
“The ‘We the People will not be Chipped – No Verichip Inside’ Movement, is based on the irrefutable fact that we believe in mankind’s inalienable human rights that are absolute and cannot be debased nor perverted. Human life can not be degraded to a 16 digit RFID chip number embedded under you skin under any circumstance. By uniting on this common ground, we can send a strong message to the IBM-funded Verichip that we the people will not be chipped!”
